Climbing over ‘the wall’ !!

Climbing over ‘the wall’ !!

Hi there,
Well, I’d like to report that I was back in action by the weekend, but sadly I needed a second visit to the doctors on Thursday and another round of extra strong antibiotics. However, I am pleased to announce that I am bored of coughing and feeling tired, so I am re-engaging my super powers and going back to work tomorrow! I will also be going for a paddle at the pool and a eyeing up some iron at the gym. Eleven days of total bed/sofa rest is enough in anyone’s books!
I did manage to venture out on Saturday though. I was supposed to be racing in the Hope Rising Off Road 10km, but instead I just shouted abuse, I mean encouragement at Nik (Tim’s sister). She has pledged to complete a race every month during 2012. So far so good. It was organised by a South African charity who raise funds for orphanges in Africa. It was only a small affair in the New Forest, but judging by the times and competitors faces, the hills were massive!! Alton Sports provided the prizes and the winners definately deserved them.
Whilst there, I promoted the New Forest Festival of Running. This is a new event taking place on the 10th/11th March. There is a race for everyone! My mate from work, Anne, has entered the Women’s Only 10km. This will be her first race experience and I just know she is going to love every second!
Oh yes, I almost forgot. On Friday I allowed my Osteopath, Gemma Ware (contact details above!!) to pull me, twist me & crack me! As I had nearly coughed my head off for a week, my neck and shoulders were some what tight. She was kind though, and only squashed me a few times! I didnt know I could contort myself into those sorts of positions! I’m sure it will do me good in the long run-it’s important to keep everything balanced, particularly in your back as most injuries originate from your spine. Gemma will be there at the New Forest festival of Running. You can book in advance and receive a 50% discount voucher off your first visit to her clinic. She will happily snap, crackle and pop you!!
So, tomorrow I am going to climb over the wall and take a peak at the world of work and training on the otherside-wish me luck!!
